Overview

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Tax Clerk with hands-on expertise using Intuit ProConnect and QuickBooks Online (QBO) to assist with the preparation and filing of business tax forms. This is a flexible, remote opportunity ideal for someone who understands how to navigate and extract clean data from QBO and translate it into properly prepared tax returns using ProConnect.

Key Responsibilities

• Access and extract financial data from QuickBooks Online to prepare accurate federal and state tax filings

• Use Intuit ProConnect Tax Online to prepare returns such as 1120, 1120S, 1065, 1040, and related schedules

• Ensure compliance with IRS and state tax filing requirements

• Communicate clearly with our internal accounting staff to verify data accuracy

• Maintain organization and digital records for each tax year

• Identify and flag any inconsistencies or missing information during the preparation process

Requirements

• Proven experience using Intuit ProConnect Tax Online to prepare business and/or individual tax returns

• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (including Accountant tools and reporting features)

• Solid understanding of federal and state tax forms, filing requirements, and business entity structures

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

• U.S.-based and authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor (Online)

• Prior experience working with small businesses, franchises, or IT services firms

• Availability during standard business hours (EST/CST), with flexibility on workload as needed

Compensation

Hourly rate or project-based pay will be commensurate with experience. This is a remote 1099 contract position with the potential for additional work during tax season and beyond.
